Our Architectural and Interior Design Studio

-where craft and design combine-

The STUDIO is located within the working portion of the A B Dick estate built in 1902, designed by Architect James Gamble Rogers and named after Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania where A B Dick and his wife Mary met and wed in 1892.  Tree lined lanes lead to sweeping lawns, with classically assembled structures in the French revival style, each artfully joined to the landscape by patios, pergolas, secret gardens, and foundation remnants from the original green house. An 1870 cast iron fountain by the renowned Parisian sculpture J. J. Ducel is the center point of the meditation garden. Blue stone and brick walkways weave together the Coachman’s cottage, Caretaker’s cottage, Carriage barn, and Potting shed into an American tapestry of historic presence and provenance. The 4,000 sqft loft of the Carriage barn is now the creative center of the STUDIO @ Westmoreland Farm.

The properties that comprise the STUDIO @ Westmoreland Farm were assembled and purchased in December of 2021 and February of 2022 by R. Nicholas Loope, FAIA and Lynne Beyer, ASID a well-known and celebrated, husband and wife, design team from Arizona. Ryc is an Architect and licensed General Contractor, Lynne an Interior Designer. Their numerous works focus on luxury residences, boutique hotels and bespoke furniture designs. Both Ryc and Lynne are committed to advancing an American design ethos and to the preservation of classical American design and craft. The classical architecture, the natural beauty, and the potential of Westmoreland Farm together with Lake Forest’s tradition of stewardship were the determining factors in locating their home and studio here.

As Ryc and Lynne are prone to say, “the STUDIO @ Westmoreland Farm is not only our home but also, a place of inspiration, creativity, growth and giving back”. Our hopes and prayers for the STUDIO @ Westmoreland Farm are to lovingly reside and work within its buildings and grounds, reinvigorate its presence as a vibrant part of Lake Forest and as design professionals contribute to the region’s historic fabric and story. Both Lynne and Ryc are pleased to offer this unique property for select charitable endeavors.

Visit and let us design & build something wonderful together!
