Jade Bar at the Sanctuary Resort on Camelback Mountain
The designer was challenged by the clients to expand and transform a 50 year old resort bar into an alluring signature bar that would become a nightlife hot spot with some of the best views of the city. Guests enter through a portico of Macassar Ebony, and a 30 foot jade-onyx bar is the jewel of the lounge. The original 1940’s wood ceiling and a new sculpted cove ceiling in the lounge blend the history and new designs dramatically. Floor to ceiling windows capture the stunning views of the valley and surrounding mountains. All furniture was designed and created by the designer. Architecture by R. Nicholas Loope, FAIA.
